The electricians quickly added a few breakers and hooked up a few essential outlets

After cutting it to length, one of the plumbers swings a section of gas pipe around to take it inside

The auxiliary gas line runs much of the length of the existing basement, then turns to go the length of the new basement. Making the turn with minimal direction changes to get around other plumbing was a challenge.
Nov 10 - the upgraded main furnace has been vented and is online. Hooray!
