Sep 2 - laying block for the east wall of the new basement is complete. The gap will be closed later after the concrete chute has reached inside to pour the floor. The day was brutally hot, with temperatures in the mid-90s. Although the block crew drank many gallons of water to stay hydrated, they suffered some heat issues and had to take a few shade breaks in the afternoon.
Sep 2 - the narrow pocket door and frame from former dining room to bedroom hallway has been removed. A wider doorframe will replace it, and allow washer and dryer to pass through into the new laundry room.
