Sidewalks will be 4' wide, the current standard. Quite an improvement over 18"!

A lot of good topsoil was scraped up for the sidewalks and turnaround. The crew saved as much as possible for landscaping and grading.

Turns out that the front roof drain tile ran under the old walk. A section of tile had elevated and was broken by the track hoe -- hole in center foreground.

This was a high-traffic day all around. From left: concrete crew, appliance delivery, street paving, concrete crew, and RKBILD1.
The paving process staged a seemingly endless series of dump trucks in the far reaches of the neighborhood. Rick goes out to help ease the Rushmore & Sawmill traffic past "project" vehicles.

The turnaround was planned at 380sf but the city imposed a 250sf limit. We think two cars could sit side-by-side, but they might be awfully cozy.

Already my eye is accustomed to the spacious new design. The old walk ran more or less INSIDE the inner edge of the new!
