Hyper Friday 2017
Traditionally the Friday before the OSU/*ichigan game, Hyper Friday consists of back-to-back gigs in Greater Columbus from as early as 6am to as late as midnight. Sponsors include radio and TV stations, corporate offices, schools, senior living centers, hospitals, restaurants, bars, industrial shops and even a loading dock – dedicated Buckeye fans all. This year’s schedule had 15 performances. Some band members did the entire day (a grueling marathon for the chops), joined by others able to fit in a gig or two around their workdays.
Football scheduling has changed the traditional date, but Hyper Friday still happens very close to The Game, still has a waiting list of enthusiastic hosts, and is now in its 42nd year.
