"The Star-Spangled Banner". The cemetery is on American soil, so our national anthem always follows any others played, which in today's case was "La Marseillaise" for France.

The half-circle colonnade's lintel is inscribed THIS EMBATTLED SHORE, PORTAL OF FREEDOM, IS FOREVER HALLOWED BY THE IDEALS, THE VALOR AND THE SACRIFICES OF OUR FELLOW COUNTRYMEN

Loggias anchor both ends of the colonnade. Their walls depict military operations. The band stood in front of this one.
